The main objective of this measure is to build an optimised and user-friendly infrastructure for public transport activities, which will encourage people to use public transport.

| The Measure |
Creation of a seamless, accessible passenger environment with consistent quality and branding.
This will include:
- improved infrastructure, signing, information, access etc at interchanges
- improved quality and quantity of info available on street
- enhanced cleaning/maintenance through single telephone number to report faults etc.
- all facilities to be audited for security
- measures to reduce crime/anti-social behaviour concerns developed and implemented, including ‘Safer Routes To Bus Stops’ programmed)
- cycle parking at all stations, interchanges and key shelters
- infrastructure improvements - The Overground and other services will benefit from priority across the network, which will improve passenger journeys and efficiency, resulting in an upward spiral contributing to increasing passenger flows and reduced traffic

£1.1m capital spent overall on scheme to date. Orbital bus route launched. 150 bus stops upgraded to QB standards. Revised traffic calming scheme. Completed public consultation and approvals for Gamull QBR. Real-time at traffic signals - complete. Real-time at bus stops for orbit and Gamull Routes - ongoing. Real-time PT information introduced to more bus stops
and into local businesses. Introduction of transport information kiosk to Royal Preston Hospital planned. Minor interchange points with improved signage and cycle parking - design stage.
