| Objectives / Innovative Aspects |
The main objective of this measure is to develop lower frequency and demand responsive services, principally for the benefit of residents.
Other objectives will be to:
- improve the image of the bus
- promote the bus as a reliable and flexible alternative to private transport and encourage its use
- reduce social exclusion.
|
| The Measure |
Works will first concern the study of potential improvements in areas outside of the core network, including the role of flexibly routed, demand responsive and feeder services.
There is a potential role for the proposed control centre (see Measure 12.6 - Management and Control) and/or the Traveline call centre in managing any resulting flexibly routed or demand-responsive services.
Based on the results of the study, a suitable service will be developed to compliment the existing network.
