The main objective of this measure is to create optimised and user-friendly information and promotion that will encourage people to use public transport.

| The Measure |
The main aspects of promotion will be to:
- Produce an overall Marketing & Publicity Strategy
- Develop a linked marketing and promotional plan for each work package
- Increase the number of roadside information displays
- All suitable stops will have a full colour, simplified timetable displaying information
- Utilise several media for advertising
- Create a project network of distribution outlets for information
For information, the following actions will be undertaken:
- Real-time information at all stations and interchange points. Real-time information available via users’ own mobile phones using SMS
- Provide new bus shelters with timetable & network map information & many with real-time
- Create a network map showing both cycling and walking networks
- Produce individual route information and mini pocket guides
- Produce effective interchange point information
- Route branding and colour coding to be carried out in conjunction with operators
- All bus stops referenced using a unique identifier
- Establishment of a City Centre Mobility Shop
- And for training:
Driver training - customer care seminars

The development of an interactive map has been put on hold due to the level of changes to services in the area as a result of bus competition.
