The main objectives of this work package will be firstly to reinforce the integration of the different transport information systems, which are often functionally dedicated and/or run by different operators.

The second objective is to strengthen the services that information systems may bring to users. Some of these are already present, but are not presented to users in a unified way.

The Measure
Strategies will be developed to control and manage traffic in Preston City Centre, which will be triggered by monitoring traffic conditions via automated systems.

The reliability of public transport services will be improved by the implementation of bus priority measures and the use of Urban Traffic Management and central systems.

Design of traffic management strategies to be implemented and tested in Preston City Centre using the strategy integrator delivered and WP 12.8 (development of common database) 1st January 2008.
